Please read our full terms and conditions below. By booking a free trial and completing the New Student Form to enrol your child with the dance school, you are agreeing to these terms and conditions.
Payments
New students
- Following a successful trial lesson, your first payment will be due before the Direct Debit is set up. This must be paid before attending the class.
- After this point you will be added to our mandatory Direct Debit system.
Direct Debits
- All students must be on the Direct Debit system to attend KADA.
- Payments are spread over 11 months, with a payment break in August.
- Payments can be taken on the 1st or 15th of each month.
- If a payment fails, we will re-apply for the payment; however, a £5 admin fee will be added for each attempt.
- If a Direct Debit mandate is cancelled, a £10 admin fee will be added to reset the account.
- Students cannot attend unless the payment has cleared.
- No refunds are given unless a class is cancelled by KADA.
- Fees are reviewed annually and we reserve the right to change fees, giving no less than six weeks’ notice.
Uniform
- Correct KADA regulation uniform must be worn for all classes.
- Uniform must be purchased directly from the dance school.
- All dancewear is to be clearly labelled with your child’s name.
- Students must start purchasing the official KADA uniform once they have attended the dance school for six weeks.
- A £35 deposit is required on all main uniform orders.
- No jewellery to be worn.
Cancellation of classes
- Occasionally it may be necessary to temporarily change the venue of a class, or postpone it to a later date. Where this occurs, KADA will try to notify parents through our official Facebook page, by text and/or by phone.
- We reserve the right to cancel any classes at any time up to and including the date the class starts. Should this occur, we will endeavour to give you as much notice as possible via the Facebook page, text or phone, and a credit note will be raised for pre-paid lessons.
Examinations
- Invoices for examinations are distributed when the occasion arises.
- All examination fees must be paid by the date requested.
Teachers
All teachers are qualified, DBS checked and insured. However, due to the nature of teaching dance, it is sometimes necessary to correct positions physically. This is always done with care and professionalism.
Kelly Anne Dance Academy liabilities
- KADA does not accept liability for personal injury to any child attending class, except where such injury is caused by negligence or default of any member of our staff, or any other default on our part.
- KADA does not accept any responsibility for loss of or damage to personal property.
- KADA does not accept responsibility for any loss or expense due to circumstances beyond our control.
- KADA holds public liability insurance.
Student collection
KADA is only responsible for pupils while they are in their class. Children cannot be supervised while they are outside class. Young children must be collected promptly at the end of their class. KADA reserves the right to charge £10 for every 10 minutes that the student remains in our care. Please always let us know if you have an issue with collecting your child.
Parent and guardian responsibilities
- It is the responsibility of the parent or guardian to notify KADA of any illness or injury that may affect the child’s participation in class.
- It is the responsibility of the parent or guardian to ensure that we have the correct details for you and your child, and to keep us updated of any changes to health.
- It is the responsibility of the parent or guardian to regularly read the website and Facebook information in order to be fully aware of all upcoming events.
- If we consider you to be in breach of these terms and conditions, or that your child is disruptive to other pupils, teachers or venue staff, we reserve the right to exclude your child from any activity within the school.
- KADA hires private halls for classes, so all KADA staff, parents and pupils must be respectful of their property. Any damage will have to be paid for.
- Photographs and video footage of pupils taken by KADA may be used on our website and Facebook page and for publicity purposes. If you do not wish your child’s image to be used for these purposes, you must inform us in writing.
- CCTV recording takes place in some of our lesson venues. This is to maintain security and safety, and to ensure that health and safety procedures are being followed.
Leaving us
If a student decides to leave, we require a minimum of four weeks’ written notice. To avoid additional fees, this should be given on the 1st of the month. It can be sent as a private text or WhatsApp message. KADA will cancel the Direct Debit after the final payment has been completed. Please do not cancel the Direct Debit yourself, as this will incur a £10 charge to reset the payment.
Safeguarding and your information
We will store all the details you provide securely and use them only to run the school, keep your child safe and meet our legal requirements. Should your child leave our dance school, your information will be securely deleted, except for records we must keep by law, such as payment and accident records. We will never sell your information or share it for marketing. We only share it with the services we use to run the school, as set out in our privacy notice. Attendance at a class assumes acceptance of these terms and conditions.
